The left bank (Medoc)
This day will bring you to the big red cabernet wines. From Margaux to Pauillac you will visit and taste in different chateaux located in distinct regions. Red wines from Margaux are usually softer than the Pauillac one. This is due to the soil (terroir) wich is not the same. Sandy in Margaux it produces a soft Cabernet as we like to say as « feminine » but further North in Pauillac the soil becomes more stony and rocky and makes a stronger and more « masculine » wine. You will learn and experience this during this tour.
During this day you will learn about the sweet wines of Bordeaux. Not so sweet as you could imagine they are usually wines that we like to drink as an aperitif. Young, the range of aromas goes from the citrus, pineapple, mint and move to the coocked fruits, marmelade and honey when it turns older.
Enjoy this during a vertical tasting of old and young vintages.
