This 2 days of excursion in the Bordeaux vineyards is a fun and very good way to discover Medoc and St Emilion wines and "Chateaux Grands Crus Classes" as well smaller family owned vineyards. To give you the best experience, this tour is private, visits and tasting only by special arrangement, designed specifically for you and not scheduled for group. Our tour-guides are all Bordeaux insiders, wine lovers, they will teach you about Bordeaux wines and you will also learn about culture and history. Day 1: Arrival day in Bordeaux.


Check in & overnight at your hotel in Bordeaux.



Day 2: Medoc, Margaux, Pauillac, St Julien... (Left bank / Cabernet)


The most famous and beautiful estates (Margaux, Palmer, Lafite, Latour, Mouton...). are located in the Medoc region. A driven sightseeing tour will show you some of them & you could also experience wine tastings to different Chateaux Grand Cru Classe 1855.

Day 3: St Emilion & Pomerol (Right bank / Merlot)


Spend a day A day between wine and history. Saint Emilion is one of the oldest wine area of the Bordeaux. The medieval village, the vineyard and the landscape are listed by the UNESCO as World Heritage site.

Option 1 Grand Tasting in St Emilion (€ 15 pp)


Start with a private visit of one of the First Growth of St Emlion and then go in a local wine shop in Saint Emilion for wine tasting. Leaded by a Bordeaux wines consultant, this "Grand Tasting" will give you the occasion to learn more and travel over the Bordeaux vineyards, taste and discover a selection of unknown good-value "Petits Chateaux" as well as famous Grands Crus Classes . Option 2 Upgrade my Tastings (€ 150 pp)

Want more wines? The regular visit & tasting includes usually 2 wines. For some more fees, some vineyards offer to upgrade their tasting with either old vintages, vertical tasting or barrel tasting. Choose this option if you want to experience more wines during the visits.

Option 3 Blending Workshop (€ 150 pp)

A fun and educational way to learn more about Bordeaux wines. During this blending workshop, you will be guided by a sommelier to be able to pick the characteristic of each Bordeaux grape variety (Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc). Make your own blend and compare your result with the Chateaux' one.

Note:
Visits are not private & only by appointment. Chateaux & schedules depend on availabilities but most of them are members of "Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux" which is a mark of quality. We can only confirm visited properties after your payment and a definitive itinerary will be sent to you before your arrival. Usually a tour with wine tasting takes around 1h/1h30 and they propose 2 different wines from the estate. Chateaux visited & wineries are closed from 12am until 2pm.

The left bank (Medoc)

The Medoc is well known as a wine growing region located on the left bank of the Gironde estuary. Its name means in old French "The land of the middle" as it is located between the ocean on one side and the Gironde river on the other side.

The region started to become famous back to the end of XVII Century as the wines from this region was shipped all over the world.

French families, rich people from Bordeaux as the wine merchants, wine brokers, bankers, aristocrates started to buy hectares of land and built beautiful chateaux.

During this day trip you will see the most popular one as Lafite, Latour, Margaux ... visit and taste in some of the famous Chateaux Grands Crus Classes.



The right bank (Saint-Emilion)

The vineyard and the landscape are listed by the UNESCO as World Heritage. Just a handful of wonderful highlights are honoured by such a distinction.

The second day of this tour will brink you back to the old time as the history of Saint Eilion started on the VIII century. Located on the right bank of Bordeaux, this wine region is one of the most spectacular and beautiful vineyard in the world. Less famous than the Medoc, the right bank as much more to offer in terms of sightseeing and lasnscape.

The wines from the right bank are also very well known to produce soft and fruity merlot wines. You will experience some of them during the tasting.
