It is extremely rare that Debbie and I write a review of a tour. However, in this particular case we feel encumbered to show our appreciation for the magnificent experience with Maryse. Maryse made our experience worry free. She was on time, cheerful and very knowledgeable as our tour guide. The vineyards and chateau's we visited were exquisite and the wine people we met were terrific brand representatives of their brands and wine in general. The hotels and restaurants that 33Tour selected were spot on and the wait staff took special notice of us. Maryse expanded our tour to include a detailed trip surrounding our Bordeaux hotel. She did this to permit us to plan our free time more efficiently. As New Yorkers we are sometimes accused of being jaded. This trip in August 2019 fulfilled our epicurean expectations and joyfully we recommend Maryse and 33 Tour.

I can not say enough great things about our tour. We had a A plus experience. Mr. Xavier rolled out the red carpet for us. We were treated like a VIP all day. My dream was to visit Graves and enjoy Frances, “Sauternes” wines. For lunch we got to eat a steak cooked in front of us with wine vines. The steak was enough to feed 3 adults. I want you to know we had the most incredible experience with Chloé. She was absolutely fantastic. So knowledgeable, so energetic, wonderful to be with, interesting, engaged...I could go on and on. The wineries were fantastic and St. Emillion was such a wonderful town, but to have to say Chloé made the experience so special. After a full day wine tasting, a full tour of the town and an unbelievable lunch, she gave us the most fantastic tour of Bordeaux when she could have easily dropped us off at the train to wait the couple hours before departure. Instead she drove us around the city, highlighted the amazing sites and was basically a walking history book and encyclopedia. I really can’t say enough about her. It was only made even more enjoyable and informative by our experience with your arranged tour, and especially with Chloe. We have had a number of guided tours in various places in our travels, including in the Bordeaux, Bergerac region. We have never been more satisfied than we were after spending the afternoon day tour in the Médoc with Chloe. She was not only a fantastic historian for the history of this area, but she demonstrated her extensive expertise in the wines and the viniculture. The selected properties were a perfect sampling of the wines of the "Left Bank" that most people can afford to drink on a regular basis. The two guides at the wineries were entertaining and informative and the tastings were just right. You may remember my wife Janine and I spent a week in Bordeaux in August 2012, which included a 4 day wine tour with you. It was a life changing experience for me so I will thank you for ever.
I meant to email you before this to tell you that we were visiting a vineyard in the Southern Highlands approx.. 150 klms southwest of Sydney a few months ago and we called into a vineyard we had not heard of before – Sally’s Corner run by Allen Davies. The walls of his premises are covered with French wine memorabilia so I commented that he must love France as much as we do, and I mentioned that we had enjoyed a wine tour of Bordeaux in 2012, and he responded with one word – Xavier. My wife & I just looked at each other – the coincidence was extraordinary – he and his wife had been on a tour with you also - so we just spoke about you and your tour and Bordeaux in general for a couple of hours, all the while tasting his lovely white wines, which are very heavily French influenced, unlike your average Aussie wine. We ended up buying several dozen.

Everything was great; the chateaux we visited, the fantastic lunches and particularly the spectacular 2 chateaux which we stayed and dined in. I loved every minute and was pleasantly surprised that I survived each day hangover free which must be testament to the fabulous wines which we were served. Even the weather was perfect.
You have set the bar very high so it will be challenging to replicate those 4 days, but we are willing to give it a go!

We just returned from Bordeaux and we wanted to express our appreciation for the 33Tour St. Emilion wine tour that we had with Maryse.
First, let me say that we have traveled quite a bit in the United States and Europe, and we have been on many tours, but we have never had a better tour guide than Maryse. Her knowledge of not only St. Emilion, but of the city of Bordeaux and the entire Bordeaux wine region was truly outstanding. We learned more from her and the winery representatives that conducted our tours of Chateau Ferrand, Chateau Beausejour, and Chateua Tailhac in one day, than in a couple of years touring wine regions in California and Italy. When there was an unexpected illness with the person at Chateau Petit Village who was to conduct our wine tour there, within minutes she had arranged for us to visit Chateau Tailhac where we had a great tour and tasting with the owner, himself. We enjoyed our lunch at Chai Pascal in St. Emilion and her guidance through the town as she explained its history. She was well received by people wherever we met and it was obvious to us that she is well liked and respected by many.
It was really the best day of a wonderful trip for us in Bordeaux and the Basque region of Spain. My compliments to you and 33Tour for designing such a wonderful trip with such a warm, friendly and knowledgeable guide. We would definitely like to hire you again when we return to Bordeaux and we will recommend you to our fellow wine travelers when they are looking for a guide in Bordeaux.

The order of the tour was perfect seeing the smaller family run chateaux first gave us an appreciation for the process which we could expand on and really see the difference significant financing makes on the second day at the larger chateaux. Also, the chateaux you chose were perfect a great balance between reputation, quality, and friendliness/openness. We were never made to feel intimidated by our lack of knowledge. In addition your recommendations were fantastic. The hotel was convenient, quiet and friendly excellent value. And the restaurants, bothon the tour and on the recommendations map, were brilliant. Bistro Gabriel was particularly memorable the food was outstanding and the staff could not have been nicer. Overall we just had fun you were an excellent guide and really helped us to understand the processes, background, and what we would see at the vinyards. And I learned some interesting facts about Thomas Jefferson along the way. I will definitely recommend you to my friends, and please do let me know if you get on Trip Advisor as we’ll put a review up there as well.

Xavier is the BEST Wine Tour coordinator I have ever met. The trip he took my friend and I on last February, exceeded all our expectations. We enjoyed : tours of the vineyards, learned the history of the vines. Touring and photographing some of the vineyards that are closed to visitors such as Rothschild’s, Chateau Margeaux, tasting most of the wines . . .
Xavier provided us with a wonderful day, including a tremendous amount of education re: Bordeaux region, the wines, classifications, politics and realities of the classifications, etc. Unlike the wine tours in California, tours of wineries and vineyards in Bordeaux are mainly by exception, all arranged through relationships, and continued by positive experience.

I wanted to followup to thank you for the great tour of the Medoc. We were very impressed that you came prepared to educate us about Bordeaux wines. As a result, we feel much more confident about buying Bordeaux wines and ordering in restaurants. I just wanted to thank you for being our guide and driver around the Bordeaux area.
We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, we have just about recovered from all the fantastic wine and food. Your knowledge of the area, the Chateau's and their wines is outstanding, we all learnt a great deal about the history, commerce and culture of Bordeaux, although we are still a little confused with the AOC rulings and just which are the best Chateaus. We will all cherish our time spent in the Bordeaux wine region with you.
